This software is modular and can be executed as a single task under a variety of operating systems or it can be executed standalone with its own microkernel. VOCAL Technologies’ packet-based multimedia communications software libraries include a complete IT compliant H.323. This software is modular and can be executed as a single task under a variety of operating systems or it can be executed standalone with its own microkernel. Depending upon the configuration selected, the H.323 software stack may be integrated into and existing packet-based LAN communications protocol stack or it may operate with its own embedded TCP/IP stack. The H.323 protocol includes the H.245 control protocol for multimedia communications and the H.225/Q.931 media stream packetization and synchronization protocol for LAN’s. This protocol family can be combined with other multimedia protocols (H.261, H.263, G.723, G.728, G.729, G.711, T.120) to provide a complete multimedia communications solution over packet based local area networks. It may also be integrated with VOCAL’s H.323/H.324 gateway protocol to implement multimedia communications beyond the LAN and into the switched telephone network. This software is fully compatible with VOCAL’s facsimile, telephony, and modem systems
